Recap from TJ Hawke:

I haven’t seen a new Styles indie match in years. Thus, I really am quite excited for this.

Neither man could get any decisive advantage for a while. Eventually, Styles caught him with a dropkick, and Styles was able to briefly work over Dar. Dar fired back and went for a tope, but Styles blocked it with a forearm. Styles then went back to working Dar over. Dar, of course, came back again and managed to hit a tope suicida. Back in the ring, they went back and forth; they eventually both went down after a double clothesline spot. I just realized this match is taking place in a six-sided ring. AJ got a nearfall with a springboard forearm. AJ went for another springboard move, but Dar caught him and hit an airplane spin and a bridging Northern Lights: 1…2…NO! Dar came back with a Flying Chuck and a double stomp: 1…2…NO! Dar managed to get a leglock. AJ struggled and tried to get to the ropes, but he couldn’t make it. AJ was then forced strike his way out of the submission. They traded some kicks. Dar hit a Brogue Kick. AJ hit a Pele (OH IT JUST COMES OUT OF NOWHERE!). They tried to roll each other up, but AJ eventually caught Dar in the Styles Clash: 1…2…3

I really enjoyed this match. They worked their asses off and delivered quality action that the crowd enjoyed. They probably could have worked a more compact match, but for some reason, I did not mind the match’s excessive length. It was kind of just nice to watch Styles work a more traditional “indie style” match again. Noam Dar is someone you all need to start watching. He’s a tremendous talent.

Match Rating: ***1/2
