Wow, Sabre pretty much got zero reaction after his ring introduction, whereas the crowd clearly knew who Dar was. Interesting. They traded a lot of holds to start the match. Sabre went for the cross-armbreaker early, but Dar was too close to the ropes. Dar got a leglock, but Sabre was able to get to the ropes quickly enough as well. Dar almost got another leglock, but Sabre was able to escape to the floor. Back in the ring, Dar hit a Tidal Wave variation. Sabre came back by going after Dar’s left arm. Dar tried going after Sabre’s left leg, but Sabre cut him right off. Sabre sat on the top rope, but that allowed Dar to take him down with a dragon screw legwhip. Dar hit a rolling forearm for a nearfall. Dar hit a Ghetto Stomp for another nearfall. They got to their feet and started trading a bunch of kicks. Sabre hit a rolling Dragon Suplex for a nearfall. Sabre then hit a sick powerbomb for another nearfall. They traded a series of pinning combinations. They traded some more strikes. Sabre missed a diving knee drop, and Dar managed to get a leglock on the injured leg. Sabre managed to make the ropes. Sabre came right back with a cross armbreaker attempt, but Dar quickly made the ropes. Sabre went for the submission again, but Dar reversed it. Sabre tried to reverse that., but Dar reversed the reversal! Sabre escaped. Sabre almost got the armbreaker again, but Dar reversed it into a pinning combination: 1…2…3!
Some of the stuff done in this match was beautiful, but this crowd just gave them absolutely nothing whatsoever. Sabre Jr. is already one of the best wrestlers in the world, and Dar is a rising star as well. Despite the weak environment, this match is definitely worth watching.
